Life comes back to bite you 20 years later...

This goes to show that almost anything you do at any stage of your life - even before the internets - can come back to haunt you.

My cousin Sarah who is graduating 20 years after I did at my alma mater posted this on my facebook wall last night. It is a video yearbook of the 1988 graduating class - but there I am a junior (class of 1989) - in my 1980's hair glory right in the beginning (located at 20-23 seconds in) noticing the camera, and casually slinking behind my locker...

DO NOT waste the whole 9+ minutes - I did - and while I knew many of the people in the video (in a school of over 3,000 students) and I am sure I know who filmed it, the shining star happens so early on that the rest is just - well - just filler! (Kim, this is for you) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  1. Holy crap how big was your high school? My class graduated 360 or so. Yours MUST have been twice that if not more.

    PS: I LOVE 80s hair!

So the student-teacher ratio was, what, 1 to 100?

    Ugh

  4. Some of the labs were that, yes! The campus was very large when I went there 20 years ago - it has now nearly doubled! I don't think the class sizes have grown as my cousin is graduating with just over 800, but it says alot for where I am living now where the class sizes average 80!!

  5. what I would give to have a video yearbook! class of 88 in the house! (only 76 kids in my class so it would be a very short video). dig the 'do!

  6. You were definitely stylin', Pally! BWAHAHAHAHA! What I noticed, though, is that your dimple was just about as big as your hair, and you were just cute as a button! But, Lordy, do I feel old...I got married in 1989, and I was way old when I got married :).

The class of 1974 had yet to know that things such as video would soon exist. Hell...we didn't even have color pictures in our yearbooks! But...my class, at something like 180 or thereabouts, was a pretty big class for Lakeville, at that time. Hard to believe when we moved there in 1968, the population was just over 2000. Now it's a booming metropolis. HA!

Thanks for sharing...you are a brave woman, Pally!

  7. I graduated with 62 kids I'd been with since kindergarten. Today, from the same school district, my kids will graduate with thousands!

Also...OMG...that was hilariously bursting with late 80s awesomeness! From the very first frame and the giant bangs! So great!

  9. You were absolutely adorable then (and now). I watched a bit longer and really enjoyed the fashions and hairdo's. So 80's.

Thank heaven there is (as far as Iknow) NO video diary of my high school years. The 70's were just as scary!

    Thank
